Morten Qvenild's recording-studio, UGLA LYD has been around since 2015. A number of songs and records have already been recorded and produced here, including Thomas Dybdahl, Judy Collins, Christian Blom, Ellen Sofie Hovland, Martin Hagfors, pacemonKey, Frida Ånnevik , Morten Qvenild's Personal Piano, Jonas Cambien trio, Platform and Susanne Sundfør.
Morten Qvenild has several hats; sound engineer, musician, producer, composer, organizer, or a combination of these.
The room is 50 square meters, decorated with hard wood ash, very well suited for acoustic recordings.
We have a love for the sound as we hear it, and thus have great focus on good band microphones from AEA, Coles, Royer and Tannoy. We also have a selection of condenser microphones from Gefell, Telefunken and DPA.
The studio has a large collection of operational analog and digital synths, produced between 1982 and 2019.
The studio also has a nice collection of acoustic instruments. The jewel is a Steinway B grand piano in very good condition. We also have Cembalo, Klavikord, 3 pump organs in chamber tone, Dulcitone and Celesta.
In recording, we use the good converters from Metric Halo, as well as preamps from Metric Halo and Studer.
Over the past 20 years, Morten Qvenild has been a crystal-clear voice in European jazz, pop and other related sounds. He has played in / with a number of bands and artists, including In the Country, the National Bank, Solveig Slettahjell Slomo Quintet, Susanne Sundveid, Arve Henriksen, Thomas Dybdahl, Martin Hagfors, Ingrid Olava, The Budding Rose, Marit Larsen, Nils Petter Molvær, Shining, Hunting Jazzist, Trail of Souls, Food, Trinity, Marit Larsen, Susanna and the Magical Orchestra and A-ha.
We can also boast Nesodden's best coffee, whether you like espresso or hand brew.
